Hesco 3810B Buoyant Armor Plate, NIJ III, Stand Alone

The Hesco 3810B is a lightweight and anatomically shaped armor plate – Multi Curve and Shooter Cut. These plates allow fast movement with good NIJ level III protection from conventional rifle shots up to 7.62 NATO FMJ rounds. The plates are sold individually.

This armor plate is "buoyant", meaning it floats. This means that the overall density of the plate is lower than water, and the plate itself will not cause the wearer to sink underwater – there will be a level of buoyancy effect instead. However: this plate is not likely to function like a proper flotation device, especially with combat gear on.
