Lauri Törni, Mannerheim Cross Knight number 144, fought bravely in Finland’s wars, later briefly served with German forces, and eventually continued his military career in the United States, bringing his guerrilla warfare expertise to the newly established Special Forces – where he was known as Larry Allan Thorne.

Ian McCollum of Forgotten Weapons has made a two-part video series about Lauri Törni on YouTube, accompanied by the release of a related T-shirt and morale patch  commemorating this military historical connection between Finland and the US.
