Will your Level IV ballistic plates and aramid helmet shield your lungs from the asbestos, toxins, and depleted uranium particles rising from the rubble of demolished buildings? Probably not! In addition to ballistic protection, especially in urban combat, you might need more than just protection from the obvious elements. So, get yourself a proper tactical respirator from Ventus!
Exposure to hazardous particulates can occur in many environments and occupations – especially during complex operations and high-intensity training. For example, working or frequently training in indoor shooting ranges over time can expose you to illnesses due to lead and other harmful particles. Law enforcement officers and first responders might encounter accident or crime scenes with harmful substances already airborne.
Ventus' TR2 Tactical Respirator is compact and light, and it will not interfere with e.g. your cheek weld contact and sight picture with the rifle. It is specifically designed for situations where gas masks are cumbersome and not suited for the task. However, understand the difference – a respirator does not protect against the same threats as a full gas mask.
Ventus TR2 tactical respirator is CE-certified with standards EN-140:1998 and EN-143:2021 P2.
The P2-02 filter holds a P2 classification in accordance with EN143:2021.
EN143:2021 has three classifications, which describe the minimum filtration efficiencies required against both solid and oil-based particulates (tested via NaCl salt and paraffin oil challenges, respectively):
The P2-02 performs well above the 94% threshold; it tests at least 99% filtration efficiency against solid particulates. The P2-02 also demonstrates >97% efficiency for oil-based particulates.
The usability and features can be enhanced by using the appropriate accessories (sold separately).
