We renewed our Windproof Anorak and moved it under the Varusteleka brand as part of our Project MEGA. We heard that someone wants to steal this name, but ours is the original and a lot better in all areas. Of course, making things in Europe will raise the price because here you need to pay the employees for their work. However, when you combine all the features, high-quality materials, and European production, the end sum doesn’t look that bad.
For round-the-year use
This is an awesome outdoor garment for very versatile weather. The fabric repels wind very well, and the cuffs can be adjusted to keep the wind from creeping in through there. The hood is very spacious, so you can fit big headgear inside, from fur hats to bicycle and ballistic helmets. Dark Helmet won’t fit, though. The hood has a drawcord adjustment at the front and back. Additionally, there is a vertical hook and loop adjustment at the back. With these, you can make the fit as snug as it needs to be without claustrophobic horror creeping in. The anorak also has a high collar that can be buttoned up as an additional wind shelter
This Windproof Anorak doesn’t have a lining, so it is perfect for warmer weather or heavier exercise as is. Furthermore, the collar has a zipper that opens it up nicely for ventilation. The full-length two-way zippers on the sides can increase ventilation even further.
With suitable mid-layers, you can use this garment even in winter. The fabric is a bit water-resistant, and with fabric wax, you can use this anorak even in very rainy weather. For a super-heavy or long-lasting deluge, you might wanna use a rain poncho or a Hardshell jacket if you’d like to stay completely dry.
Enough pockets
The anorak has a very spacious, zippered kangaroo pouch. Inside, you will find two smaller pockets for your phone, wallet, and other smaller items that you want to find easily. On top of the zipper, there is a storm flap protecting it from hostile elements.
Both sleeves have a smaller zippered pocket for car keys, a tourniquet, and other small items.
Furthermore, below the kangaroo pouch, there is a hand-warming pocket (or a hand-warming tube). The knuckle side is lined with warm and pleasant fleece.
Made in Europe
This anorak is made in the EU in Latvia. We are pulling our production from China as part of our Project MEGA. The idea is to make the production process more transparent and more ethical. Plus we also want to improve our security of supply in this unstable political climate. It is better to buy less stuff but invest in better gear.
