Is your plate carrier running out of real estate? Extend it – the Varusteleka PC Wing gives your plate carrier wings, allowing you to properly carry radios and other essentials without flimsy or flopping second-rate solutions. Now, you can also route radio cables without complex cummerbund setups that limit the plate carrier's usability.
These PC Wings are sold individually, the price is for one wing.
Features
Our PC Wing draws inspiration from a similar product by Spiritus Systems. However, we've taken the product development further, allowing pouches to be mounted both vertically and horizontally on this wing, and the reinforcement plastic covers the entire wing area. This creates a sturdier structure, even accommodating relatively heavy short-range radios.
By mounting your radio on the PC Wing (and not the cummerbund), you can route the cables straight up your plate carrier and e.g. through the shoulder strap covers. You can now open and close your cummerbund without some cable hassle running under your armpit and making things miserable. Here are some ideas how the product can be used:
- Traditionally as a wing on the left or right side of the plate carrier's front panel
- As a hanger in front below the placard (IFAK, grenades, etc. heavy items)
- As a hanger in front attached to the plate bag’s closure flap (compatible with our LVPC)
- As a hanger in the back attached to the plate bag’s closure flap, e.g. IFAK or two rifle magazine pouches mounted horizontally
- As an extension for a chest rig, e.g. on the left and/or right side of the placard
Varusteleka PC Wings are sold individually. Check out the photos to see the optimal attachment styles for MOLLE gear – using these ways of attaching the webbing will give you the sturdiest setup. Note: This wing also has loops for tube-type cummerbund attachment!
Example of common uses: a general purpose pouch or a short-range radio on the support hand side – a knife and/or scissors, and other similar slim gear on the dominant side.
