US Canteen Cup Stand / Stove, Surplus

A really handy gadget that teams up with the US canteen cup. You can use this to heat water and food. Provided that you have the cup or some other mess tin, as well as some tablets or a small spirit burner. Awesome shit for minimalist bushcrafters of for military use.

Use

This stand was originally designed for heating water and meal-ready-to-eat pouches. Put water and the pouch in the cup. Place the stand on the ground with the side opening at the bottom and place the cup or other mess tin on top. Insert the heating device through the opening and follow the instruction of the device as well as local fire regulations. When the stuff is warm enough, everything is ready.

When the stand has cooled down, you can pack it up with the cup and the bottle. Don’t fondle it with bare hands during or right after heating because that will give you a booboo and sadness. Designed to be used with US military fuel tablets, but a small spirit burner works, too. Don’t shove this in an open fire though. We don’t recommend heating the canteen with this either because plastic might turn a bit gooey.

Condition

Genuine US military surplus. There might be a few scratches and other minor signs of use or long storage on these. They are in perfectly usable condition though. After all, a piece of metal such as this won’t really get damaged that easily.
