If the .50 cal can is too tiny for you, here’s a notch bigger ammo box, designed for 40 mm grenades. Very heavy metal. Doesn’t break that easily. Why carry your beer into the park in a bag, when you can do it in style!
The US ammo box designed for the practice grenades of an under-barrel grenade launcher. The markings on the boxes might vary so there might be boxes of some other NATO troops among these as well. And it isn’t impossible that something else might have been stored in these at some point in time. A box is a box, you know.
Can store 32 individual 40 mm grenades. If the cartridges of your under-barrel grenade launcher are already in good order, this also works as a heavy metal beer case or a stylish piece of interior decoration.
The box is made of solid steel and thus weighs a nice 6.4 kilos (14.1 lbs). The lid has a rubber seal to keep the water outside. Since this is used surplus gear, we cannot guarantee that these boxes are waterproof anymore. Thus, we don’t recommend replacing your dry bags with these when you go canoeing.
Used NATO surplus. There might be some surface rust in spots where the paint has been scraped off, and scratches, dings, dents, and other similar patina that gives the box some character. These may also have gathered a little bit of dust and could contain some Middle. -Eastern sand or other authentic dirt. All the boxes work and can contain stuff. These do come with the stunning smell of military surplus, but luckily you can get rid of it.
