Traditional shoelaces are soooo 1900s. Salomon's QuickLace system has a tad more "quick" in it: no knots required, just pull it taut.

Comes with everything you need for one pair of shoes or boots with the QuickLace system: from our selection these would be the Speed Assault 2, XA Forces, and XA Forces MID. See the pictures for instructions. The lace length 145 cm (57").

Not suitable for other footwear

Let's stress again that these are meant for shoes and boots that have this kind of QuickLace system. This means that the shoes and boots cannot have cloth, leather, or other soft lace loops, because these laces eat soft material like kids eat marshmallows. So don't try to turn some traditional shoes into QuickLace shoes. It will make you sad. If you do it anyway, because you think that you know what you are doing, it is on you and your maker.

kind of functions if you need to get the boots on and out the door quickly, and can fully adjust the lacing later. but the lace is thin and slippery while plastic bits are thin and fiddly, so that the knot you need to make does not actually fit inside the plastic snap ends. instead you need to fuse the lace ends by fire or glue. I wonder why no one has developed a man size copy of the lock grommet, which you could use on any lace you have on your boot already.
