General-purpose straps made of leather are becoming quite rare but now you can get them again, for a while at least. This time Romanian ones, short and long. One-off batch, so when these are out, it’s all gloom and doom again.

Use

The general-purpose strap is your friend. You can attach all sorts of things to all sorts of things with these. Old-time outdoor folks and DIY wizards should hog a bunch of these because leather straps tend to break in tough use.

Condition

Used Romanian military surplus. Some of these have seen more, some less use. There can be some scratches, dents, and dirt on these. The leather on some of these has become hard, so you should grease them properly before use.

Received mine with purchase of Romanian Bread Bags. Good quality but needed treatment (dry). Light cleaning with saddle soap then applied Tallipoika (black version). Straps took on very nice shade of brown which goes well with the Romanian green. Strong and sturdy. Hope to buy more. Very good deal at current prices. N.B. - recently purchased two more straps but in long version. Both in great condition. One is smooth leather like the short versions: the other is a shorter, soft, suede-like belt that was probably used to consensually restrain ‘prisoners’.

I received two belts. One belt was thicker then the other as expected with East block surpluses. Belts are stiff but not dry rotted. Belts appear to have no use but signs of long term storage. Will need some conditioning as expected.
