A tunnel tent has a sleeping area and a spacious vestibule. You can store all your gear indoors, protected from rain without having to sleep next to your smelly and wet clothes. You can also get dressed away from rain without dragging sand and mud into your bed. Furthermore, you can also eat indoors during a rainstorm. Cooking in the vestibule isn’t advisable unless you can ensure a really good ventilation. Never cook in the sleeping quarters.
