Quick and easy to prepare

These are very easy to prepare in the field. Tear off the top of the bag at the indentation. Add warm water up to the level marker. Stir well, close the bag using the ziplock, and let the dish rest. The water amounts and resting time may vary from meal to meal. You will find more detailed instructions on each package.

Long shelf life

These meals have a 7-year shelf life from the manufacturing date. They probably won't turn into toxic goo after that either, but that is the manufacturer's guideline. Store at room temperature. An opened bag should be treated as a fresh product. Please eat the meal within 2 hours of adding water.

What is freeze-drying?

These meals are made by freeze-drying, which is the most gentle way to remove water from food. Freeze-dried products retain their shape and structure relatively unchanged from fresh condition. They also absorb water again better than air-dried products and preserve more of their original taste and aroma. When vacuum-packed, they can last for a very long time, even without the use of preservatives.
