If your AR charging handle is wack, it’s time for an upgrade! The Radian Raptor is one of the most renowned ambidextrous charging handles in the world, designed with robust grips for a secure and swift charging motion. This version is optimized for suppressed rifles and fits most AR10/SR25-style rifles with a rear-mounted charging handle on the upper receiver.
This handle is compatible with rifles like the Aero M5, STAG-10, Armalite AR10, Knights Armament SR25, Daniel Defense DD5 (V3, V4 & V5), DPMS Gen1, and other DPMS Gen1 or Armalite AR10 type platforms.
Incompatible with: SIG716, Savage MSR10, Smith & Wesson M&P10, or rifles with proprietary charging handles.
By the book, an AR rifle is charged by gripping the charging handle with fingers on both sides. However, in fast-paced scenarios, users often rely on a single-sided pinch grip. Most MIL-SPEC handles only allow this action from the left side, which can be challenging for left-handed users or when operating the rifle left-handed, such as shooting around obstacles. Ambidextrous charging handles make operation easier, enabling quick one-sided charging from either side.
There are many opinions about firearm lubrication, but the truth is that most ARs with standard tolerances operate best when generously oiled. Key areas to lubricate include the sliding surfaces of the bolt carrier group and the charging handle shaft. Avoid putting any oil in the trigger mechanism, firing pin channel, or the charging handle grip area. Also, do not grease the bolt face. It is also advisable to at least think about cleaning your weapon system from time to time. Bare minimum is to dry your rifle after exposure to water. Clean out dirt, carbon buildup, and other gunk inside the upper receiver before reapplying oil. Occasionally inspect the barrel as well.
