This set has one Nikwax Tech Wash and one Nikwax Tx.Direct Wash-In 300 ml bottle for a reduced combo price. Tech Wash is a detergent for all waterproof gear. Tx.Direct is an easy-to-use treatment for all breathable waterproof gear. Increases garment breathability, water repellency, and especially reduces water absorption in the outer fabric. Designed to revive water repellency and breathability – easy to use in the washing machine or by hand.
With Tech Wash, you can clean your gear without compromising its water repellent properties. Recommended fabrics include Gore-Tex®, Windstopper®, and other waterproof, windproof, and fleece materials and equipment. Also suitable for synthetic sleeping bags. If needed, after washing, you can apply a new DWR treatment to your garment with a suitable product. Volume 300 ml / 10.1 fl. oz.
Maintaining your membrane clothing with Tx.Direct Wash-In enhances the performance of your gear, keeping you warmer and drier. Recommended fabrics for this product include Gore-Tex®, Sympatex®, and other such waterproof materials. Volume 300 ml / 10.1 fl. oz.
Breathable waterproof garments are most likely to become moist inside when used for an extended time in wet conditions. If the outer shell absorbs a lot of water, the garment can lose up to 70% of its breathability. Therefore, maintaining durable water repellency (DWR) in the outer fabric of the garment is essential to ensure its functionality. DWR treatments wear off over time and need to be renewed with suitable products.
Waterproof fabrics must allow moisture vapor to pass through, or breathe, otherwise, sweat cannot evaporate, leading to moisture. If the outer fabric absorbs water and becomes wet, breathability is reduced.
In case of tough stains, apply Tech Wash® directly and use a sponge or soft nylon brush to treat the stains before washing. Remove all non-washable parts. Shake the bottle well before use. Follow the care label instructions, and avoid using regular detergents.
* If, for example, your water kettle gets calcium build-up, you have hard water. In extremely hard water, use 200 ml / 7 fl. oz. per wash.
The washing can also be done by hand. Use gloves.
Remove all non-washable parts and clean the garment first in a separate wash using a detergent suitable for membrane clothing, such as Nikwax Tech Wash. Follow the care label instructions for washing. The garment does not need to be dried before waterproofing.
*Faulty taped seams can sometimes detach from old or worn garments. They can be reattached using appropriate products after waterproofing and drying.
Nikwax TX.Direct® Wash-In can be applied by hand. Use gloves.
