This is the legendary Mayflower chest rig for all sorts of enthusiasts for professional gear! There’s a map pouch, mag pouches, frag pouches, and general purpose/radio pouches – light and adjustable shoulder straps make it easy to carry this thing fully loaded. The shoulder straps are detachable – you can put the pouch part on your plate carrier with the use of SwiftClips.
The Mayflower Chest Rig is one of the most famous chest rigs in the world, and this version is the 4th generation.
While still on active duty, an American special operations veteran founded Mayflower Research & Consulting LLC in 2005 for designing tactical nylon for the troops – lightweight, durable, and adaptable for different mission types and operational environments. Velocity Systems has manufactured Mayflower gear since 2007, and in 2014 the Mayflower brand was acquired by them. The original Mayflower chest rig designer still works there designing and developing the Mayflower products.
The Mayflower Gen IV chest rig has four open-top mag pouches for AR/M4 mags with bungee cord retention. The general purpose/radio pouches have adjustable and detachable retention systems for different sized radio apparatuses. The placement of pouches on this chest rig is mirrored on both sides – this is a fully ambidextrous platform.
The backside of the chest rig has a Velcro hook area for better fitment to a plate carrier, when the shoulder straps are removed. If you want to attach this chest rig's pouch part to your plate carrier, check the compatibility, and get a SwiftClip kit.
The shoulder straps have elastic tube/cord channels, and the chest rig straps are adjustable in length. The chest rig height is also adjustable in relation to shoulder straps by moving the SwiftClips’ position.
Note: AK mags can be forced into the open-top pouches (at least bottom first, as in cartridges up), but due to their size, shape, and all sorts of protruding little parts, the usability is quite awkward – we do not recommend the use of AK mags with this chest rig.
