Probably the best fire steel there is! This is the army model with an extra thick rod, which means more sparks and longer service life. It comes with a very well-made scratcher, which really gives good, strong spark showers and doubles up as an emergency whistle.
The best thing about fire steel is its extreme reliability: no matter how wet or cold, the ferrocerium/magnesium alloy rod will still strike sparks. Birchbark and other well-prepared tinder is easy to light on fire with the strong and hot sparks from the Swedish Firesteel.

Works pretty well with the included striker if enough pressure is applied, left the striker at home though cause knives you know.
eyed the chance to test the beveled spine on my 240 skrama - turns out that knife is a tad too big for this task but surely not impossible. Switched to my old trusty Erling Vangedal rover knife (RK-13 i think) and had a lit fire on the first strike.
Protip: dry out a piece of wood bout 10cm/4 inches long, drill a hole through the top and infuse the entire stick with petroleum jelly. Attach it to the cord included with the firesteel and throw away the striker (you always bring a decent knife into the woods anyway) you now have flammable, quickly prepped feather sticks that work in the worst storm and downpour.
