I had put one of these in my office desk to be prepared for a potential icy emergency, and finally got to try them out yesterday when I saw people sliding around outside. Size M (38-41) still fit over my size 43 shoe and prevented any slipping so I could even safely buy eggs on my way home. It's quite noisy to walk on pavement with these but they absolutely did what I bought them for, with no visible damage to the gripper or the shoe.
