Yuuuge and very sturdy 140-liter green military duffel bag from France. Exactly enough compartments and you can fit your whole life inside. If you cannot, get a less cluttered life. These are tough as hell, as you’d expect from a military bag. The price is ridiculously cheap for a bag of this caliber. These won’t grow old on the shelf, methinks.
This is a very typical military duffel bag used for hauling all your gear and then some. These duffel bags might be FELIN series ones, but we couldn't confirm that as of now. The main compartment has two open mesh pockets where you can put e.g. your sweaty clothes. In the middle of the pocket, there’s a velcro strap to keep the clothing bundles from dropping out. At the bottom of the large compartment, there are elastic straps with side-release buckles for securing stuff. Both ends have a smaller zippered compartment for all smaller things that you don’t want to shove in the main compartment. At the other end there is also a place for a name tag.
You can carry this bag in a plethora of ways. It has shorter carry straps and shoulder sling plus double shoulder straps hidden inside a small compartment, which turn it into a backpack. The rubberized bottom keeps your gear dry even if you lay the bag on e.g. wet grass. The whole bag isn’t waterproof, so don’t throw it in a lake to prove a point. It does prove a point but not the one you’d like. On the bottom, there are also hard plastic stiffeners that also protect the bottom a bit from wear and tear. The zippers and the canvas are very tough, almost as tough as our grandparents’ generation.
Used French military surplus. However, the French soldiers have been very gentle with these. There can be some minor scratches and dust marks on the bottom and small specks of dirt on the fabric. Otherwise these are in a very nice condition. So this is definitely a bargain.
