Fiskars axes have earned themselves a solid reputation as proper, dependable working tools. The X7 hatchet is designed for easy carry, it fits perfectly strapped to the side of a backpack. The X7 still retains a decent shaft length which means it packs a good punch, just like an ax should!
The handle has a shock-absorbing fiber construction with a rubber grip area and it's molded together with the blade. This means that you will avoid the funny situation where you swing the ax up for a strike, only to have the blade land somewhere behind you on an unsuspecting buddy.

i didn't buy from here the version i bought was the x7 many years and recently the larger but similiar x10 these axes are brilliant the handle is virtually indestructible and the axes are very easy to sharpen everything about these is great besides the sheath which does have a belt loop but it isn't great and perhaps the older heat treatment years ago but that is no longer a problem as far as i can tell BUY IT.

I use and own a Granfors Bruk Lite Forest Axe for bushcraft (have done for a decade now) but I regularly use the Fiskars X7 when I am at work and I must say, it gives great performance, very surprising (to me anyway) considering it's distinct "lack of leather and hickory".
