This is the eggshell helmet of the Finnish army. Miraculously we managed to find a few more of these in fantastic condition. One-off lot and we cannot promise that this will happen again! We believe this helmet will be very expensive after a while, it's already quite scarce.
In the Finnish army, the Swedish M37 steel pot was in use from World War 2 to the end of the Cold War. It was renamed M60 by the Finns, but some collectors refer to it as M62. The manufacture and purchase history of the pot is quite exciting. Firstly, the Finnish army had a number of old wartime Swedish helmets. Then, more helmet shells were purchased in '58-60 from Sweden. And some years after this, the Wärtsilä company also made them in Finland. The liners were made in Germany and later on also Finland. Naturally all of these parts were probably mixed together over the service period of the helmets and repaired and mixed again. These helmets are just that.
The size numbering is the circumference of the head in centimeters. Multiply that by 2.54 and you get inches.
Finnish military surplus. These helmets that we now managed to get are in very good condition and don’t seem to have been used. Note that these have not been stored in a safe or a bacta tank, so they can have small scratches or other such things. These are sold for collecting, not for personal protection (not even your mother-in-law’s). If you ride your moped into a ravine or Ukraine wearing this, you at least have been warned.
Sometimes we might also get some used ones through circular economy. So we divided these into regular surplus and unissued surplus, so you know what you get.
