A bit weird but wonderful old Finnish firefighter helmet. Perfect for all collectors of peculiar paraphernalia or as a gift to a basement-dwelling WWII Germany fan with overprotective parents. We’ve only got a few of these and might not get more, so act fast!
This is very similar in shape to the WWII German/Finnish helmets but made from aluminum and with a low crest on top, plastic visor, and on some of these also a leather neck guard. Inside you got a liner and a chin strap made from leather. The whole thing weighs c. 1,150 grams (2.54 lbs). A bit less without the neck guard.
Used Finnish firefighter surplus. These have seen a lot of action and they are decades old. The visor can be scratched, and the steel bits have some rust on them. The visor of a couple of these might have gotten hit by an axe murderer, the dents are pretty impressive. The leather interior is worn and a bit stiff but intact, but you should be prepared to revive it a bit with some leather care. Some helmets have numbers taped on them, others don’t, and the tape might be a bit frayed at the edges. In other words, these illustrate beautifully how tough the work of these firefighters has been.
Because these are used and from the era when everything dangerous was still allowed, we don’t sell these for fighting fire with fire, only for decorating your home or playing those perfectly understandable adult games.
