Product description

Brownish green wool gloves of three-fingered design. A rather good invention that allows the wearer to pull a trigger or use the brakes and shifters of a bike.

It was a common thing for armies to issue soldiers a pair of wool mittens and another pair of heftier shell mittens. In civilian life, these will work just as well as most wool mittens out there but are probably a bit more durable.

Material and care

Made of a blend of wool and something. Machine wash at 40 degrees Celsius. Shape when moist and drip-dry only!

Size info

We concluded these come in one size, and they're supposed to stretch to every hand. It's roughly a Medium (US 9).

Used army stuff

Used Dutch issue gear. They have clearly sorted out the worst ones earlier, as all of these look pretty nice. Being made of wool, there might be a small hole here or there, nothing major.

Purchased three pairs; all in excellent condition. Agree with published size assessment. Wool quality is excellent and medium-thickness. Cuffs are thicker. Warm enough for their purpose. Trigger finger dexterity is pretty good and the mittens pre-form your hands for the Vulcan “Peace - Live Long and Prosper” greeting (or the Kohanims’ blessing). Kept my hands warm down to zero Celsius. N.B. - Will require extensive airing and/or washing, as it seems the Dutch penchant for nuclear-strength mothballs is especially rampant in their military storage facilities.
