This contraption looks like a cross between a sex toy, hardware tool, and kitchenware. Don't get excited now, it's just a Dutch shoe brush specially made for nubuck and suede shoes. On second thought, it's OK to be excited.

The brush, as one may expect, has bristles. There's a section of brass bristles in the middle, surrounded by nylon bristles. The combination destroys encrusted dirt from within the leather fibers and gives the surface a proper facelift that is difficult to achieve by other means. Brass is a relatively soft metal and won't damage the leather itself, given that you don't press too hard.

The head is encased into a white rubber brush with other shapes and wedges you never thought were necessary. These help you get gently into every nook and cranny to get an absolutely perfect result.

The brush is somewhat abrasive but does not damage the intended materials. Try it on the back of your hand to see and feel for yourself. It does make very small scratches on smooth leather, so this brush can be very helpful when you want to roughen brand-new boots a little bit.
