The world’s ugliest machine pistol doesn’t come in a very pretty holster either. But at least the style is consistent! Half a century old Czechoslovakian quality and in excellent condition for their age. If you aren’t into Cold War shooting sports, these also work fabulously for airsoft, steampunk, cosplay, and Halloween costumes.
Features
This holster is made for the VZ61 Skorpion machine pistol. Because there are so many fab guns out there, we have no way of telling whether some other cool gat of yours will fit in it. The holster isn’t very small, so a handy person might be able to modify it for other guns as well. We added a few measurements below to help you.
- The height from the top of the lower leather piece to the very bottom: 295 mm (11.6”)
- The height measured from the topmost stitch of the top leather piece on the left side to the very bottom: 165 mm (6.5”)
- The height measured from the topmost stitch of the top leather piece on the right side to the very bottom: 255 mm (10”)
- The width of the top leather piece at the height of the topmost stitch: 145 mm (5.7”)
- The width of the holster just above the bottom taper: 85 mm (3.35”)
Because these are Czechoslovakian, the measurements might vary a bit. Also the color of the leather can vary to some extent from darker to lighter brown. Made from the same leather (possibly pigskin) as the Czech Vz58 magazine pouches.
Condition
Czechoslovakian military surplus. The bunch that we checked were from 1974. These are used but in perfectly serviceable condition. Of course there are some signs of use but they don’t affect usability. Even the leather is fairly supple, which is somewhat of a miracle considering the age. The straps have probably been exchanged a couple of times.
