The Czech response to those bitter East-European winters; this is a modular winter jacket with a shell layer, hood, thick liner and the essential teddy collar, all separable. Thanks to the design, it works well in warmer weather too. It's even a pretty good looking parka considering its origin.
A properly done winter parka from the Czech Republic. They got rid of these a decade after the Cold War ended when the army went all camouflaged. Fortunately, the ex-Czechoslovakian army was also a conscript one, so these have been made in great numbers!
Round the year jacket!
The shell parka
- Water resistant, windproof fabric
- Long hem, zipper & button closure
- Essential pockets, two handwarmers and two breast pockets
- Drawcord adjustment on the hem
The extras
- Teddy liner jacket, buttons up to the shell. The liner worn by itself is great for that "Russian peasant in the 1800's" impression!
- Teddy collar, a great complimet to the liner and gives the jacket that wintery finish
- A small hood to complete the package - when the collar is lifted up and the hood drawn over everything, you'll stay warm with the cost of looking daff.
- Often comes with a fabric belt
Material and care
Being made of mostly synthetic materials, this is a surprisingly lightweight jacket despite its generous and wintery appearance. Wash at about 40 degrees Celsius (104 F) if necessary.
Size info
Sizes according to user's recommended user height and chest circumference in centimetres or inches. This parka is designed to accommodate other clothing underneath, no need to pick a larger size just to be sure. If you're a few cm wider or taller than the recommended numbers, it's still OK!
Genuine military surplus
We would like to reserve the right to sell these as "used", but most of them are in fact unissued or otherwise in excellent shape. The only fault to expect is the missing belt in some cases.
