German mountain troops march around in damn sturdy and well-cushioned leather ankle boots. Aren’t we all jealous! These high-quality boots are used but not abused and once again dirt cheap. A new pair would cost you more than 200 euros, which is even more in freedom units.
This here is a very sturdy black leather boot with a rubber outer sole. The sole is hard and stiff with a proper tread pattern, just like a mountain boot should have. The leather is very thick and the lining is properly cushioned. Even the upper part is well padded and features a similar ventilation system as the BW combat boots - when you walk, the moisture gathered between the leather upper and the lining is pumped out from the ventilation holes at the top.
Last time we got boots from three quality manufacturers, and they differed a bit from each other. This batch seems to have only one variant though. However, we cannot swear that no other variant slipped in under the radar. Buying milsurp is a bit exciting business, you know. Nevertheless, they all have been made in accordance with Bundeswehr’s quality standards, so they are fairly similar, just minor details may vary a bit, such as the tread pattern.
Some of these boots have been walking more, some less. So, be prepared that the tread pattern may be a bit worn and the upper a bit muddy. These might also come with some surplus sand. However, they are all intact and perfectly serviceable. Some are super nice indeed, probably officer boots. None of these look like Mad Max props, and dirt can be easily cleaned. Please note that insoles are probably not included. We recommend getting new ones anyway, e.g. from us.
