Well darn! Here are some really robust special forces combat boots for intermediate and cold weather at an unbeatable price! German surplus and a single batch - think fast, act fast!
The Meindl Combat Extreme WI12 is based on Meindl's civilian hiking boots with most notably a lowered shaft height and a protective rubber trim all around the bottom edge. It is issued by the Bundeswehr as a heavy boot for cold weather use from -30°C to +10°C (-22°F to +50°F).
When new, it's an expensive boot but it makes sense to equip soldiers with the best footwear available when they are sent to complete demanding missions. Being army surplus, the boots we are selling cost a fraction of the price and are far from the end of their service life.
Made to EU sizes mostly in full increments. Below, you'll find a conversion to foot lengths (millimeters) and US sizes as labeled by the manufacturer. The US sizes run about half a size large, so don't pick the larger pair if you're normally in between sizes.
The list of features of these boots is long to make these incredibly comfortable: MFS heat-sensitive memory foam, DIGAfix lacing for a separate tension of the footbed and shaft, and Gore-Tex Performance Comfort membrane for a high level of breathability and waterproofing. Meindl is an old name in the industry but their technology is definitely up to date!
The stiffness is higher than regular army boots but not quite at the level of super-stiff mountain boots. On a scale from 1 to 4, the Combat Extremes rank at 3. Think of these as hiking boots and you're in the right ballpark. These are compatible with snowshoes and light irons (e.g. Tyrol P12).
These are all-leather boots with a waterproof membrane. You can clean and polish or grease these as you would plain leather boots with one thing to mind: ensure your shoe care products are suitable for waterproof membranes.
It is important to remove the insoles and perhaps even the laces and let the boots air and dry for a whole day or two between uses.

These have been worn by professionals and are by no means new. However, the previous users have taken good care of the boots and these are in good working order.
