Features

This used surplus fleece jacket is from the birthplace of french fries. The jacket is reversible: On one side, there is a Belgian puzzle-pattern camouflage, and on the other, a similar pattern but with sandy colors. The jacket has side pockets accessible from both sides through zippers. On the woodland camo side, there are also zippered chest pockets, which you won't need in the desert.

Belgium had this funny "jigsaw" camouflage pattern that appeared based on the black-yellow-red colors of the flag... But enough green and khaki color that it was camo. Then people would wear the stuff in the Ardennes forest and show how good a camo it really was. Belgian armed forces decided to get Multicam like 50-other nation states, and ditch this distinctive and almost cheery pattern late in 2022. Mine was a "medium" and is quite large and roomy and baggy on my "short and stout" frame. I like the thumb-holes so I can have quasi-gloves while I'm riding a bicycle or wearing it layered under some other garment. The pockets are weird. They are small, and they don't really hold that much. The "waist" pockets are basically where my crotch is. The chest pockets appear a bit like some French uniform garments, and seem suited to a pack of cigarettes or some kind of document or pass book, but little else. The reversible pattern for desert use is nice, I suppose. There's a surprising amount of white in the camo pattern, which I guess makes this the "third pattern" for the camo nerds out there. Mine was nearly new, with threads coming out of some portions, and the collar on mine was kind of messed up, but no big deal. There are cords that can cinch things down in high winds or whatever.

Mine arrived looking almost brand new. Windstopper is a great fabric and this one works really well - I was out in high winds today. Reversible and well made, the only issue is the very small and badly shaped pockets. I'm a 50-52"/127-132cm chest and 2XL is a nice loose fit allowing a medium under-jacket/warm layer to be worn. Also has a decent length. All in all, a great value buy. And it's in Belgian Jigsaw camo so extra cool......
