Product description

The perfect solution for good Scottish weather when it’s pouring rain or sleet sideways. They are meant to be worn on top of the regular pants but work on their own well enough. High quality yet affordable, what is this?

  • Unlined shell trousers to guard against the elements
  • Polyamide construction, with a Gore-Tex or Sympatex membrane
  • Generous cut: with only light clothing underneath, you can pick one size smaller than recommended

A simple and effective cut: zippered legs with velcro cuffs, elastic suspenders, and adjustment at the waist. These sometimes have a light liner fabric inside, sometimes not. The color varies from grayish olive drab to more brownish and greenish shades. The shell material is usually 100 % polyamide, and the waterproof membrane is always Gore-Tex or Sympatex.


Condition

Used Austrian military surplus but in perfectly serviceable condition. We cannot test every pair for complete waterproofness, but judging by the general appearance, these should be good.

These things slap. I ordered a pair a couple years ago while living in Copenhagen and, in case you didn't know, it rains in Denmark. A lot. These pants were perfect for biking to work in the rain. Freedom of movement was excellent and you can open up the sides to breathe if the rain isn't so bad. Besides commuting I have used these on a few rainy hikes back in the USA and they keep the rain out just as well, have the same freedom of movement and also are durable enough over rough terrain like clambering over rocks, or through brush. Very high quality and almost felt unissued. I was lucky enough to get the Gore Tex version in Small Regular. I am 5'7" and weigh about 145 lbs

These are pretty much new, old but new. Haven't tried it in the rain yet but my surplus austrian alpine goretex jacket hasn't let me down yet so i have no doubt this will hold up very well too. 180cm 34/32"W-32"L and the medium regular was perfect for me.

The ones I received appear to have been unissued. I have a 34”/35” waist and am 73” tall, and I ordered the medium-long version. Excellent fit for warm weather — somewhat slim (at least compared to the very baggy US military’s wet weather overpants) but not tight at all. Perfect for urban cycling in wet weather. IfI intended to wear these in cold weather with a thick insulating layer, I’d probably go up one size in the waist. But for my purposes, these are perfect as-is. A great deal at the current price of $30 USD.
