”Put the backpack on and get going!” as we say here in Finland. Here's our hiking and military backpacks (up to 40 litres in volume). We have many different military backpacks to choose from so everyone should be able to find one whether you are looking a brand new tactical backpack or a more rugged surplus backpack.

Most of these are proper military or tactical backpacks but can be used as hiking or bushcraft backpacks and in other outdoor activities as well. Some are meant for the civilian use but have been designed as military style backpacks. You can spot several assault packs as well in the selection from well established brands.

The backpacks of this category can be divided by volume:

  • 10-20 litre backpacks: Suitable for combat patrols and in the civilian life for school, biking or something else that requires little space
  • 20-40 litre day backpacks: Little more spacious. Slightly larger backpacks for overnight or day’s worth of activities. You can also use these backpacks as your hand luggage when flying.

NOTE! These categories are not set in stone. If you know what you need and how large a backpack your needs require then you should listen to yourself. However some of you may be unaware of the hiking backpacks sizes so here’s something to guide you in the right direction.

Pimp up your backpack!

Some of you might wonder what all of those horizontal straps are all over many of the backpacks. They are PALS loops, which were initially found mostly on pieces of the US MOLLE system, from which they spread everywhere and brought an extra name along.

It gets dark out there so in order to stay visible pimp your backpack with a reflector. For moral support there are hook and loop morale patches that fit most of our backpacks.

You can weave cords through the loops for special needs, and the loops alone carry a sharpie or bicycle lock quite conveniently. Their original purpose is to attach extra pouches for specific items, like a water bottle or first aid kit - whatever you need, maybe a pouch for your Bluetooth headphones.
