Measurements

The socks are true to size and allow a liner sock to be worn underneath. However, if your feet are over the recommended size at all, pick the larger pair. The UK size converts to US sizes simply by +1 whole size e.g. UK 8.0 is the same as US 9.0.

Materials

These socks feature a three-layer bonded construction that combines a comfortable and moisture-wicking lining, a 100% waterproof hydrophilic membrane, and a durable nylon blend exterior with 4-way stretch for great fit and wearability.

  • Outer Layer: 90% Nylon, 10% Elastane
  • Middle Layer: 100% Aquasealz® waterproof membrane
  • Inner Layer: 36% Merino Wool, 36% Acrylic, 18% Polyester, 5% Elastane, 4% Nylon, 1% TPU

Care

Life is peachy! You can throw these in the wash at 40 degrees Celsius (105ºF) along with the rest of your gear. No need to line dry or wash with special detergents. Low tumble dry cool or drip dry as you like. Since the membrane is a solid barrier, you’ll never need to re-waterproof.

Features

Cold and wet feet can lead to all sorts of crappy things, including blisters, frostbite, and trench feet. These socks will keep your toesies dry no matter what evil weather you encounter. We have used Sealskinz socks extensively, and they are truly 100% waterproof and very breathable - more so than many boots with a waterproof membrane.

The breathable waterproof membrane releases perspiration steam and warm air from inside the sock. This creates a high level of comfort even during strenuous and aerobic activities.

Handmade in the UK, and every sock is hand-tested for waterproofness.

Comfort and blister prevention

The construction omits many seams, and the toe boxes are hand-linked to keep everything nice and flat. Furthermore, the elastic supports on the ankles, heels, and insteps improve the fit.

Hydrostop™ - extra water protection

When it rains cats and wombats, water can drip down the bare legs and creep into the socks through the top. Enter Hydrostop™, a silicone-like but silicone-free elastic taping around the inside cuff. It significantly reduces the chances of water, mud, and sand finding its way into your sock.

Note! Due to the close bond between the sock cuff and skin, some people may experience minor skin irritation due to the Hydrostop barrier rubbing against the skin over prolonged use. In such a case, we recommend that you only use these socks outdoors and not for a prolonged period of time. Or use the Sealskinz socks that don’t have Hydrostop.

Use

Waterproof socks are ideal when there’s a risk of getting your feet wet while hiking, cycling, commuting, hunting, fishing, working outside, or in military use. Not many things boost morale on the trail like dry feet free of blisters and frostbite. It is also a goal that is sometimes difficult to achieve.
