The L1 Premium Boot Socks provide high performance in all but the hottest seasons, featuring a soft terry section from the toes to the heel and a sleek, form-fitting leg up to crew height. You can use these daily without thinking about it and be happy. The full range of insulating and moisture-wicking features is unlocked when you put yourself to the test on a long hike or military yomp or doing shorter stints at a higher speed. Level 1 means you can wear these as-is or together with liner socks.

Our sock provider, Sukkamestarit, has joined the NATIVA system, which allows tracing the merino wool back to individual sheep farms. The packages feature a QR code for tracing the source of the Merino wool.

L1 - Base Layer

The first layer of the Varusteleka clothing system is tasked with moisture management. A good next-to-skin base layer keeps you feeling comfortable in any condition. To do this, it needs to be lightweight and effectively moisture-wicking. We use a lightweight merino wool blend for our base layers, a natural and very functional material for this purpose.
