Beyond A5 Rig Light Backcountry Pants, Surplus

Lightweight softshell pants for active military and outdoor use in warmer weather. The durable four-way stretch nylon shell is very breathable and provides some protection from wind and rain. Here's a lightweight alternative to Beyond’s Rig Softshell Pants. They are made from a 4-way stretch Tweave Durastretch with the DWR treatment for water resistance. Note that these aren’t waterproof; for shit-oozing misery, you need hardshell pants. They have a zipper closure with a tough bar button. The low-profile cargo pockets feature a zipper closure and a discreet flap. Likewise, the rear pockets are zippered. The kneepad pockets are accessed from inside the articulated knees. There are also ankle gaiters with cinch adjustment at each ankle, which help keep out all sorts of crap. 

We only got these in Coyote Brown, but they have also been made in at least Lupus camo and Manatee Grey.

Axios Layering System

These pants are part of Beyond’s earlier Axios layering system, where A5 is the Axios Layer 5, Softshell. Later, Beyond switched to the L-system, and this garment falls into the L5 slot. The current version is known as the L5 Back Country Pant, in case you wanna do some price comparison (you should).

Condition

Unused American military surplus still in plastic wrapping. On the shelf, these cost several times more. They were made for the US military, which has no shortage of money. So, here, sir, you have a so-called bargain!
