Made in USA with a 25-year warranty. Materials: Stainless steel, Black Oxide finish, Cerakote. The sheath is made in China and the bits are made in Taiwan.

Differences between the Leatherman 300 and 300M

The M-model is not only a black version with a MOLLE sheath but has some actual changes and additions compared to the standard model. The fixed screwdrivers are omitted and the awl is modified for dual purposes. The following features are only found on the 300M:

  • Special Awl / Carbon Scraper
  • Pry Tool / Nail Puller
  • Large Bit Driver
  • #8-32 Female Thread for Cleaning Rod/Brush
  • 1/4" Hex Bit Driver / 4-Prong Sight Adjustment Key

So you get to keep the awl and the bit driver makes the dedicated flat and Phillips screwdrivers redundant anyway. Pretty damn fair!

Description

The Super Tool 300M is a heavy-duty multi-tool from Leatherman. The M stands for Macho, Military, Marine, MOLLE... Whatever you want it to mean. This tool has some specific features that make it especially suitable for armed users in the field or on the range.

The Super Tool 300M has a low-key appearance thanks to not having exterior tools. Chances are you already carry a folding or fixed blade on your belt or elsewhere within easy reach. The inner tools have spine locks.

Each handle is stamped from stainless steel sheet. The action is tight at first but becomes very smooth over time with repeated use and a drop of oil into the moving parts certainly doesn't hurt.

Fits into a pocket and can be tethered to a lanyard. Comes with a nylon sheath for PALS platforms (e.g. on MOLLE vests), a strip of screwdriver bits, and a tool that works as a regular 1/4" hex bit driver and has 4 prongs for sight adjustment.

Tools

The Super Tool 300M has a modern selection of tools with a few militant additions for folks in service or civilian enthusiasts. Some dual-purpose tools count as many separate ones on the list so it's rather a feature count.

All tools have positive locks to ensure you can safely push while turning a screw, for example. The ends of the pliers meet precisely – a detail we appreciate.
