Measurements

The first size is the recommended height and the second is the recommended chest circumference. The sleeves aren’t super long, so if you have long arms, take a taller version. And if you want to fit thick sweaters and such underneath, go with a wider size. If you are in between sizes, take the bigger one.

Technical details and instructions

Materials and care

The fabric seems to be a pretty wind-resistant and durable cotton/polyester blend. The ones that we checked were 75% cotton and 25% polyester, but there can be other combos as well. Likewise, washing instructions can thus vary. The ones we checked told us to wash these at 50 degrees Celsius (122 F) and hang to dry.

Description

Hello sailor! Here's a lightweight navy blue jacket or a heavyweight shirt, you decide how you want it. In any case, this modern Royal Navy garment is bloody marvelous. Used British military surplus.

Features

The dark blue navy color combined with the cut of the army PCS jacket gives you a very practical but not very militaristic jacket, perfect for everyday use. Also great for renovation, yard work, and so on.

The jacket has a zipper closure plus a Velcro flap on top of it. The sleeves can be easily rolled up. There are two secret super pockets on the breast, and the hem is so long that you can shove it in the pants if you want. You can have the collar turned down or up if you want more protection from the elements or wanna pretend poorly that you’re a spy. There is velcro on the collar to fasten it shut tight on your neck for shipboard firefighting and anti-flash.

These have various Navy-related patches on the chest and sleeves, but they can vary to some extent. At least some of these have been fire retardant, but I wouldn’t rely on it anymore.

Condition

Used British navy surplus. These are in serviceable condition nevertheless. The colors can be a bit faded, and there might be some other small patch-ups and other signs of use as well. These are still perfectly serviceable in any case.
