Simply the best long johns for soldiers, hikers, hunters, and other active outdoorspeople. They warm when the weather is chilly, cool down when things get hot, and wick moisture very well. Made for demanding professional use around the year.
Black mesh shirts and long johns are coming in early 2025.
Mesh knit base layers made from polypropylene have been very popular among active outdoorspeople here in the north. We wanted to make a good thing great and added Merino wool, nature’s own technical fiber, to the equation.
The mesh design creates air pockets that have a warming effect in cold and a cooling effect in warm weather. Mesh also breathes very well when it is warm. Furthermore, merino wool and polypropylene are moisture-wicking, ensuring you won’t get cold that easily after a tough exercise. The need to change into new long johns after the exercise also diminishes significantly.
These have knit bits on the upper part, knees, and ankles to retain heat. and to make the long johns more comfortable. The elastic waistband is nice and firm. The flat seams won’t chafe your skin raw no matter how long you march or hike. Merino wool won’t start stinking easily, and it is also otherwise more pleasant than synthetics.
Designed and made here in Finland. Manufactured by Svala of Finland.
The mesh knit structure is ideal as a base layer when you move a lot. These long johns are made to meet the demanding needs of professional soldiers, but they are very well-suited for everybody who moves and/or sweats a lot. Active hikers, trail runners, mountain bikers, walk-and-stalk hunters, and preppers running away from fast zombies, these are the long johns for you.
The Merino wool long johns are suitable for all weather conditions and can be worn throughout the year, apart from the shorts season. They work as the solo base layer when regular Merino wool is too warm. They can also be combined with other layers in colder weather.
In early fall and other cool weather, wear these underneath and put suitable pants on top. This combo also works in the summer outside the shorts season. For colder weather, choose mid-layers depending on the temperature. For example, put our L1 Long Johns or L2 Long Johns on top of these.
