As the weather gets cold and nasty, so do cotton undergarments. The answer is to switch to merino wool. These have a nice, snug fit for the best functionality. We had these made in Lithuania just for us.

Our merino wool long johns are fairly standard type, with non-chafing seams, long enough legs, and form fit. These are moisture-wicking, dry fast, and self-rinsing, which helps with maintenance. For those concerned, these don't itch either, but rather form a second skin. No fly, so you have to lower the waist to pee. This means they work better for women too.

The best thing you can layer next to your skin

Merino wool is a fantastic choice for next-to-skin wear; most notably it feels good against the skin and retains it´s insulating properties even when soaking wet. So it's like regular wool, but better. Oh, and did we already mention how nice it feels?

First my physical dimensions: 1.73, 85kg, waist 85cm(BW KampfHose pants number 2 are a bit wide in the waist bunt length is OK), 75cm-30 inch inseam, chest 108cm, thighs(just one) 58cm, what you would call athletic built but not bodybuilder type. Also I noticed that my arms and legs are a bit on the shorter side of normality. The AI suggested M so I picked M. The long johns are good for me, both lengthwise and waist. Now my impressions: nice fabric, not very see trough(if you stretch it it will become more transparent), good sewing. It is warm for its fabric weight. Definitely recommend them as a not very warm long johns. Note: By doing a very empirical test, my legs feel a bit warmer if I put these under a pair of 5.11 Stryke as I would feel with simply a pair of heavy denim jeans or corduroy pants. So there you have a good winter solution for the summer weight cargo pants that everybody is making.
