A vintage utility strap for the ALICE system. This is marked LC-1, which means the first generation of ALICE gear. This strap is meant to be used when something other than the rucksack needs to be attached to the ALICE frame.
The ALICE load bearing equipment was developed during the Vietnam War, and taken into use shortly afterwards. The ALICE system components were manufactured up to the 2000's, talking about a long service life.
If you are in the market for a period correct piece of Vietnam-era gear, add this utility strap to your re-enactment or larping set.
Turn the buckle loop forward. Wrap the strap around whatever you are securing, so that the printed text is on the inside. Attach the hook to the loop. Pull on the loose end of the strap to tighten. Close the buckle on the strap. To open the strap, grab the loose strap, and lift to open the buckle.
This item is unused US surplus.
