Innovate or die! That’s the motto of TYR Tactical, and here they have innovated a combat phone pouch. This pouch was originally created for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, making it suitable for similarly sized larger smartphones. The product is unused, unissued surplus in mint condition.
The pouch features a MOLLE attachment system and is typically worn attached to the chest of a plate carrier. It occupies a 4x2 PALS grid. A flap can be opened to expose the camera if you need to record what's happening in front of you. If the device itself is required, the pouch opens, leaving the device hanging on adjustable cords. The length of the cords – and thus the opening angle – can be adjusted. The phone is placed in a dedicated insert, which can be quickly and easily attached to or removed from the pouch.
The pouch is likely made of Cordura and has been assigned the NSN number 8465-01-618-1580.
"Why would anyone need to check TikTok in the middle of combat?" That’s probably not the point here! Smartphones and such equipment have become a normal tool on modern battlefields – they’re used to e.g. run various software (like ATAK) and to record bodycam footage of operations when required. The product is unused and very likely still in its original plastic packaging.
