In case you're familiar with the civilian line-up of Therm-A-Rest, think of the ProLite Plus with slightly different materials and a subdued color scheme to get an idea of what to expect.

Constructed of perforated urethane foam sandwiched between two polyester fabrics. The mattress decompresses on its own for the most part (this is called "self-inflating") and you top it off by blowing in the valve. Don't start huffing and puffing too soon to reduce moisture inside the mattress.

I haven't used this pad yet, but so far I'm happy with the quality. The fabric that it's made of is high quality. Seems pretty rugged. When I first got it, it had been packaged at the factory so tightly, that it was completely flat. Would not self inflate. I thought it was ruined. Left it with the valve open for 24 hours and it still would not self inflate, so I blew it up as far as it would go and left it for another 24 hours and then opened the valve. The foam was no longer compacted. I rolled it up and put it in it's stuff sack and pulled it back out and now it self inflates nicely. With a few breaths blown in to it, it's firm enough to keep my body up off the ground. My hips don't press through to contact the ground. I'm going winter camping soon, so I'll write another review to say how it performs.

A good balance between an ultra light and an heavy winter matrace. The material feels stronger and more durable, i tested it at so far at a temperature range of 15 to 35 degrees celcius, works fine and is not too hot.
