Looking for the best warmth-to-weight ratio of any sleeping pad ever made? Here’s an extremely lightweight 4-season sleeping pad with an R-value of a whopping 7.3. Perfect for mountaineering, skiing in Lapland, and other cold-weather adventures where you don’t want to haul a cave troll-size pad with you.
This pad combines the Triangular Core Matrix™ construction and ThermaCapture™ technology. The R-values of winter sleeping pads start from 5, so 7.3 is well suited for very cold weather. A high R-value won’t hurt in other seasons, either, so this can be used around the year.
The pad is 76 mm (3") thick, so it is also quite comfortable. 70D nylon on the bottom withstands the wear and tear of extended expedition use, while 30D ripstop nylon on top keeps the pad light and packable. Of course, you can puncture this on sharp sticks and such, so if you camp in crappy terrain, put a cell foam pad underneath. The WingLock™ Valve allows for rapid inflation and deflation even with gloves on.
