Swedish Work Jacket, Green, Surplus

Is it a minimalistic, practical, and durable jacket or a sturdy and ruggedly handsome shirt? The Swedish Work Jacket is many awesome things. This is really kinda jätte cool in its own way. Also cheap. As a bonus the Swedish green isn’t too warlike.

Features

Super simple, yet kinda peculiarly clever cut. There are two pockets on the inside, but they are placed in a bit special way. The reasoning is probably to ensure that there are no clingy bits on the outside that could get tangled into something.

The drawcord around the waist is also on the inside. The cuff slits are on the wrong side for modern folks. When the cuffs are unbuttoned, you can easily wipe your nose on your wrist without soiling your sleeve. There are two buttonholes on the cuff so you can get them tight or too tight. The sleeve buttons are on the inside, too so they won’t catch on anything either. There are epaulets on the shoulders, and the material is extra strong cotton.

Use

This sturdy jacket is great for home renovation, fixing your car, or whatever work you fancy doing. You can fit warm layers underneath, so it can be used around the year. However, if you go down in size a few notches, this also works as a not-so-formal shirt.

With a little imagination and needle skills, you can turn this into many lovely things, the design is so simple that it is very easy to modify and add stuff, pockets, etc. to it. This also works as a base for a sniper's ghillie suit. The strong cotton can take the heaviest loads of camo material and with no pockets on the outside, you don't need to worry about being able to access those. Since it is cotton, it also can be dyed, for example, black if you like.

Size info

The sizes are traditional European jacket sizes and we added the recommended height and chest circumference in centimeters. If you use inches, divide the centimeter sizes by 2.54. Note! The sizing is very ample. These are work jackets that are meant to fit layers underneath, and you should be able to do physical labor in them. This has been taken into account in sizing.

If you only want to have a T-shirt underneath and look for more of a slim office shirt, you can easily take several sizes smaller.

Condition

Used Swedish military surplus but in serviceable condition. Some of these look completely unused, and some have seen some use. But they are all clean and intact. They can be wrinkly because cotton.
