Product description

An utterly delightful Polish Gen 1 night vision device that was originally designed for the PKMN machine gun. However, it fits all eastern bloc guns that have a side rail, such as AK-47 and Dragunov. A ridiculously huge contraption with apocalyptic image quality that makes your life a lot miserable. Comes with a storage case.

Features

The included storage box is usually made from metal but there may also be some wooden ones amongst them, and the color may vary to some extent. The one thing that is always inside is the scope. Originally, there was also a canvas pouch, a battery, spare lenses, and other spare parts in their own pouches, and a cryptic booklet in Polish but these are often missing entirely or in parts, so take them as nice surprises. The battery is never included, so you don’t have to be surprised in any way when it comes to that.

The gen 1 night vision devices came into use around the time of the Vietnam War. The image quality is utter crap if you are used to modern fancy la-di-da image intensifiers. Very blurry around the edges and only sharp in the middle. However, it will create that lovely post-nuclear holocaust Stalker world for you.

Note! Don’t ever use these in daytime conditions. And really don't stare at the sun with these. That can be very unhealthy.

Size info

This is a ludicrously-sized lump. It weighs c. 3.7 kg (8.15 lbs) and the length is 54 cm (21.3”). With the box it is around 20 lbs. A much needed addition to our limited Manly Sizes category.

Condition

Used Polish military surplus the condition of which varies. The box can have rust, the metal bits patina and oxidization, and the canvas and leather bits (when included) stains. These just make the device more convincing. We haven’t tested these but they should work if you find a suitable battery or use your electric wiz skills to create one. Because these are old, we cannot guarantee that they will work forever. But if they don’t work when you get them, please contact us and we’ll work from there.

Mine worked. All you need is 2x AA batteries and some kind of wire to connect to the contacts.
