The Tactikka series represents a really dependable, basic headlamp from Petzl. The Tactikka has earned a solid reputation among demanding user groups. The +RGB version has Red, Green, and Blue light modes and the maximum output is a bit higher at 350 lumens.
A lack of bulk and a single strap means you don't have to get involved to get the Tacticca +RGB running. Just put it on your head and press the button and you have light. Adjustable for tilt up and down. The strap has a quick-release buckle so you can hang the light on your neck without removing your helmet.
The button is recessed to prevent accidental activation but large enough to be used with gloves on.
The various color options of a headlamp or flashlight are not just for fun looks and playing around. Each one serves a purpose and offers major benefits over plain, white light.
The white light has three brightness settings with a mixed beam pattern. Turn it on and adjust the brightness with short presses. Change the color with long presses. When the color is selected, use short presses to turn on and toggle between steady and blinking light.
Once the light has been on for a few seconds, it turns off with a single press - no need to cycle through all the settings!
This is important: the light has a memory function for the color you last used but turns on always at the lowest setting / non-blinking. E.g. if you only use the steady, red light, all you ever have to do is a short press to turn it on, do what you do, and turn it off with another short press. Rather simple!
Mode | Output | Beam Distance | Burn time |
---|---|---|---|
High | 350 lm | 90 m | 2 h |
Medium | 100 lm | 45 m | 12 h |
Low | 6 lm | 10 m | 160 h |
R/G/B | 2 lm | 5 m | 60 h |
The blinking light is visible out to 700 meters for 400 hours.
