The Petzl Bm'D is a strong auto-locking carabiner that is suited for connection to diverse equipment such as descenders or positioning lanyards. It has the Triact-Lock automatic locking system and a reinforced sleeve for greater front and lateral gate strength. Can we open it with one hand? Let's find out!
The Triact-Lock system is among the most secure automatic and tool-less systems available. It is faster to open and close from a locked state to a locked state compared to screw locks. It is also impossible to vibrate loose.
The gate and locking sleeve have a rounded shape and Keylock mating system to eliminate any snag points.
The Bm'D is made of aluminum and has a guarantee of 3 years. Certification(s): CE EN 362, EAC, ANSI Z359.12, NFPA 1983 Technical Use, CSA Z259.12

Using the Triact-Lock requires practice. First, slide the spring-loaded sleeve towards the thick end. Then, rotate it 90 degrees. While holding this state, open the gate. To close, release and verify that the sleeve is locked.
With a bit of skill and large enough hands, the gate can be opened with one hand. Whether it's practical in an actual situation with gloves on, is another matter.
Keep the mechanism clean and lubricate periodically with a couple of drops of silicone oil. Wipe excess oil carefully.
