If you are reading this, you probably have or are planning to own a traditional shelter half ("Zeltbahn"), or a couple of them. This East German set comes with the necessary hardware to put up anything from two-man tents to larger contraptions. What's best, the parts are compatible with any Eastern Bloc shelter quarters. The solidarity of it all! They even fit some Western tarps, but don't let the Politruk know you even thought of this.

The pole pieces are 39 cm (15 3/8") long, slide about 5 cm (2") into each other and their smaller end has a diameter of about 1 cm (0.40"). The bayonet-type connection is reinforced with aluminum. Weight about 120 grams (4.23 oz) per pole piece.

The stakes are steel and very robust. These might come in a few different variations but all serve the same purpose. Length about 24 cm (9.5"), weight about 100 grams (3.52 oz) per stake.

The ropes are about 1 meter (50") long, sometimes made of traditional hemp but usually of utilitarian but a bit cheap plastic factory stuff, nothing really to write home about. They do their duty and that's it.

These are delivered in a plastic bag. You might want to get a more durable bag for these.
