Product description

The East German Sturmgepäck (assault pack) is not as bad a piece of kit as you'd think: a simple, square-shaped pack made of thick, waterproofed fabric in the Ostalgic Strichtarn camo, carried with Y-suspenders (not included!) or anything you clip it onto. Can also be attached to bike racks with very little work!

Features

This is a pretty compact pack; the inside measurements are c. 30 x 30 x 12 cm (12" x 12" x 5"). You can increase the carrying capacity by attaching extra stuff (blankets, zeltbahns, and extra clothing) using the loops found on the outside.

All of these feature some anti-water treatment. They may have a PVC sock inside, or the fabric is rubberized or otherwise treated. Please accept that we won't pick; you get the next in line.

Hey, bicycle fanatics!

Get two of these, attach them to your bike, and, hey presto, you have very cool pannier bags! In addition to great looks, they are also made for real use.

Condition

East German military surplus. The condition varies. Some are unissued, but they can have some surface rust on metal parts. Furthermore, since many of these are used, it is easier to sell all of them as used. They are all still perfectly serviceable, but they do come with a strong surplus aroma. More delicate folks might say that some of these smell of the rear end of death. However, airing them out will help with that problem.

Wonderful bag that can be treated as a backpack or a handbag. Fit light grocery duty (2 cartons of lasagna sheets, some kilos of ground beef, a jar of tomato sauce, cheese, and several other bits)

Can be used as an awsome, waterproof(ish) tool bag. I have two of these and one holds my cordless drill and acessories and the other has various useful handtools depending on what I'm planning to work on. I bought the Y-suspenders for both, but would not recommend them, they are gimmicky and not that comfortable. I rather carry them in hand even if they are heavy.
