This French wonder is just like a kidney-shaped mess kit but craploads bigger. Probably fits around 5 liters of pea soup. The liters are like quarts but bigger and better. Apparently, these were taken into use a bit after WWII, possibly as a part of the M47 system. In any case, a very unique and fascinating part of culinary war history.

The size of the pan is c. 25 x 14 x 5 cm (9.8” x 5.5” x 2”), so you’ll fit quite ample pancakes in it. The tube protruding from it is designed for a handle that you’ll whittle in no time from a branch.

Condition

Used French military surplus but such thick aluminum that it won’t break unless you drive over it with a tank. These will be usable long after you aren’t.
