For those hot summer operations, tropical or desert boots have long been the norm in armed forces. Here's a modern take on coyote tan boots adopted as part of the FELIN combat gear system. Don't let the name fool you too much, desert boots are very capable boots for non-desert and non-summer conditions as well, of course depending on where you live.
Lightweight, protective enough, and fast to lace for what they are. A great general pair of comfy boots to put on your feet for most occasions. The lack of membrane means these also dry faster. If you really have to, these can be sprayed with proofing agents to increase the water repellency, but as is they're at least not any worse than your regular pair of sneakers.
The boots are made to accurate French/European sizes with a roomy last. See the chart below for an accurate conversion.
Addendum July 6th. Based on one sample we recommended everyone to buy a larger size. Turns out we were wrong and didn't check the rest of the sizes before selling a bunch of these. Sorry about that. If you bought the wrong size, returning them for the correct size is free of charge. If you're really bummed out, contact our customer service and we'll try to make you happy.
No surprises here.
These have nothing that constitutes a membrane, so the boots breathe exceptionally well and dry fast. The sole is medium stiffness, not alpine boots nor combat sneakers.
Brush dry. Air insoles after every use. Treat leather and textile parts with a spray impregnation.
These have no manufacturer's warranty, as the boots are surplus. However, we take care of our customers in any case.
Made by Argueyrolles of France, never issued and in manufacturer's boxes.
It is worth knowing that military surplus boots don’t usually come with insoles. So, get a good pair of insoles at the same time. For example, from us.
