Product details
Product description

A liner bag which you stuff inside the actual sleeping bag to spare it from washing. Used.

Just like a mummy-type sleeping bag, but made of thin cotton. Can be attached inside the Dutch modular bags but will work with any sleeping bag, just throw it in. Of course, if you want to take it further, sew on a couple of cloth strips to your sleeping bag and you can have this securely attached.

The Medium size is suitable for average-sized men and the Large one for taller people up to around 190 cm / 6' 3". The X-Large goes

Dutch army surplus

Used, washed, and serviceable. Many even looked unissued.

I just received this liner, so this is NOT a long term review. Some notes: It weighs 464 g (16 oz) which isn't bad for military gear. It's a little thinner than other military liners but quite a bit lighter. I have an Austrian liner that weighs 660 g (1 lbs, 7 oz), so the Dutch liner is quite a bit lighter. The Dutch liner doesn't seem fragile, but I would be a little careful with it; it is thin. The overall quality is quite good. The zipper is nearly full length, so it's significantly more convenient than many liners that only have an opening at the head. The Dutch liner is really like a very light duty sleeping bag, maybe good just by itself down to 75F/23C if you wear clothes inside. I would not use the liner alone even when wearing clothes if the temperatures were to be below 70F/21C. The other nice thing about this liner is that since it is thin it would not make things too hot and sweaty in warmer weather when used inside a regular sleeping bag compared to some thick liners. The zipper has a pull tab at both ends of the zipper, but only the head end has a double tab so that it can be pulled from either inside or outside the liner; the lower zipper tab is one sided only. The ties for securing the liner to a sleeping bag are very interesting. One has to turn the liner inside-out in order to use the ties. At first I thought the ties were missing until I looked inside the liner. I am 183 cm (6' 0") tall. The large size liner fits me well length-wise with a bit of room to spare. In terms of width, I weigh about 90 kg/200 lbs, and the liner is more than adequate. My civilian Cocoon silk liner is much narrower; I definitely prefer the width of my Dutch military liner to that of my civilian liner.

The large one fits someone that is 2m high easily, maybe even taller people could fit. I am 185cm high and the "face hole" sits on top of my head when I plant my feet at the bottom of the liner. Considering buying the medium one as the large one may be too much to stuff into a sleeping bag. My liner came without any attachment straps, but the overall condition loooks almost completely new, zipper does not show any signs of wear. I think this could be also used as a thin and light summer sleeping bag for warmer times of the year. Recommended.
