Product description

Tired of searching for a waterproof men's traveling cape from department stores to no avail? Well cease your quest, for the answer is here! This Czech cape is made of PVC coated non-shine nylon and is nonchalantly dirt-colored to please any modest adventurer!

If you need to use a rain cape only as a rain cape, this type is actually a realistic alternative to the traditional snap closure capes. As a definite bonus, you'll look like a runaway extra from Lord of the Rings. It's up to you whether to wear this buttoned from just the top to keep both hands ready for combat or closed completely for that "helpless condom man" look. Of course, there are armholes but they're not too functional, at least not for any tasks requiring heroic moves. You can ride a bike or a horse, though!

Totally waterproof

These are made of some kind of nylon, coated with PVC on the inside. The seams are not taped but thanks to the genius construction featuring overlapping fabrics (see the hood & shoulder area), these are very waterproof.

Real deal army stuff

Genuine Czech army surplus, most looked either unissued or lightly used. These have been stored and folded for ages so they might be a bit sticky and nasty. We heartily recommend washing the cape with water, mild detergent, and a sponge.

This thing proved its mettle as I set up camp in heavy snowfall. The hood is sized for a helmet plus your buddy's helmet on top. The cut resembles that of an Inverness cape. The sleeves offer better coverage than the classic. The vinyl shoulder cape is silly. The main cape blocks drips into the sleeves and other front openings. It's big and heavy. It's worth the weight in crummy weather

Arrived in unissued, but sticky condition. The stickiness being due to the PVC ageing. Washing instructions in the cape recommends 40°C and low tumble drying, which resulted in a non sticky and less stiff cape. Excellent for field use, but you'll probably freak people out if you wear this in public. A testament to this being that my mothers dog emptied its anal sacks out of fright when she saw me in the cape... I have a sneaking suspicion one of these can be buttoned together with more capes to form a sort of tent or supercape, as there are buttons on the inside as well as on the outside of the front seam of the cape. Maybe Varusteleka can give it a shot?
